Join with me this year as we read the Bible in chronological order.  This is not a book-by-book reading of the Bible, but instead follows the events in the Bible as they happened in history.

You may also want to visit Wendy Pope's blog with me.  She will be holding discussions each day about the material.  I'll see you there.

Authentic Parenting in a Postmodern Culture: Practical Help for Shaping Your Children's Hearts, Minds, and Souls
    by Mary E. DeMuth

If like me, you are struggling to sort out parenting in the modern culture, this book is for you. I have gained greater understanding of how to Biblically parent in a world that is so different than the one in which I grew up. Challenging material, but oh so good!

Ponderings

Thought I would share some quotes with you that I am pondering today.

Love begins at home, and it is not how much we do... but how much love we put in that action. Mother Teresa

If you want the blessing, you have to take the burdens that go along with it. Kurt and Brenda Warner

Courage is doing what you're afraid to do. There can be no courage unless you're scared. Eddie Rickenbacker

Practice does not make perfect. Practice makes progress. Unknown

What is your favorite inspirational quote? I would love to hear it!

"I am the rock in your garden and you are the bloom in mine." This is from a fiction book called Cane River by Lalita Tademy but it often makes me think of God. He is the rock I need in my garden and I am continously trying to bloom. Not sure if this is my favorite quote but it changes as the needs of my heart change.

Thanks for sharing these - it is good food for thought.
